The New England Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units is a non-profit organization made up of insurance industry fraud investigators, state and federal employees, law enforcement, fire, and other anti-fraud personnel from both the private and public sectors who are dedicated to fighting insurance fraud throughout New England.

We strive to provide the highest level of education and training to our members while promoting awareness of the insurance fraud problem here in the Northeast.  Through our relationship with our International parent organization (IASIU) we are able to offer industry recognized certification programs and continuing education credits for both these programs as well as some state mandated CEUs for adjusters.

We welcome you to learn more about our organization and join the fight against insurance fraud.

NEIASIU & NEAIFI JOINT HOLIDAY TRAINING

Location:  Common Market, 97 Willard St, Quincy, MA 02169

Time: 11:00 AM

Speaker: Timothy Tapply, Esq  Brand & Tapply, LLC

Topic: Santa Claus is Coming to Midtown: NY rate evasion and You

Each year it seems that we are dealing more and more frequently with cross-border issues and, in particular, people insuring vehicles in Mass, CT, RI, or upstate NY but, in reality, they live and the vehicle is garaged in NYC.  The premium differences are massive and so the motivation is pretty clear for this kind of misrepresentation.  But, with NY’s Deemer Statutes in play, the investigations can become a bit tricky.  What information might allow a carrier to escape coverage within their own state, might not be the case when dealing with NY.

BIO: Timothy W. Tapply, founder and managing partner of Brand & Tapply, LLC, represents insurance clientele in all phases of first and third-party coverage and litigation. Brand & Tapply, LLC specializes in combating suspect claims throughout the United States in virtually all lines of insurance. Mr. Tapply has trial experience before state and federal courts in complex coverage litigation, automobile, commercial and homeowner fraud and arson cases, as well as medical provider, bad faith and extra-contractual liability matters. Mr. Tapply is actively involved in the insurance industry’s education efforts and has served as a panelist and lecturer at seminars and conferences sponsored by international, national and local insurance organizations.
